Ingredients
4-5lbbeef brisket
2tbspbuttermelted
2tspblack pepper
1tbspsalt
2tspsmoked paprika
1tspgarlic powder
1tsponion powder
1tbspliquid smoke
1cupBBQ sauceyour favorite brand or homemade
0.5cupbeef broth or water
Instructions
Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
Mix salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl.
Rub spice mix all over the brisket.
Set brisket in roasting pan, fat side up.
Pour broth and liquid smoke into bottom of pan.
Cover tightly with foil and bake for 3–4 hours, until tender.
Take off foil, brush with BBQ sauce, and bake uncovered for another 30–45 minutes.
Let brisket rest for 15–20 minutes before slicing against the grain.
Notes
Slice brisket against the grain for best tenderness. Let meat rest before slicing to retain juices. Add extra liquid smoke or more BBQ sauce for a bolder flavor.
