Ingredients
1cupunsalted buttersoftened
1cupbrown sugar
1/2cupgranulated sugar
2eggs
2tspvanilla extract
2 1/4cupsall-purpose flour
1/2tspbaking soda
1/2tspsalt
1cupM&Ms
1/2cupsemi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2cupwhite chocolate chips
1/2cupbutterscotch chips or peanut butter chipsoptional
1/2cupchopped walnuts or pecansoptional
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Cream the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Combine wet and dry ingredients to form a soft cookie dough.
Fold in M&Ms, chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, butterscotch or peanut butter chips, and nuts if using.
Spread dough evenly in the prepared pan. Press extra M&Ms on top if desired.
Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden brown at the edges.
Cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into bars.
Notes
Press a few extra M&Ms on top before baking for a fun look. Pull out at 25 minutes for soft bars, or bake longer for crispier edges. Store at room temperature up to five days or freeze for longer storage.
